Why a blog
SyncGallery is a gallery and file explorer app where you control cloud sync: you decide which folders sync where, review what will happen before it happens, and keep your files flowing directly between your device and your own cloud account.
A lot of that control deserves more explanation than a store listing or release notes allow. This blog is where we can take the time to explain how things work, why they work that way, and what is changing in the cloud services your photos depend on.
What to expect here
Posts will be occasional and practical rather than frequent and promotional. Topics we plan to cover:
- Release news: what changed in new versions and why.
- Guides: setting up sync rules, previewing the first sync, sharing folders with family.
- Ecosystem changes: what cloud providers are changing about photo backup on Android, and what it means for your library.
- Behind the scenes: how we design sync behavior to keep your photos safe.
Where to start
If you are new to SyncGallery, these existing guides are the best introduction:
- First-sync preview: review every operation before anything moves
- Samsung Gallery and OneDrive sync is changing in 2026
- Cloud sync guide
